How Do I Receive Salvation?

If you want to be saved, you can be today. God, in His abundant grace, has made salvation simple and easy to receive for those who want it. Just follow the steps below and begin a new and fulfilling relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Steps to Salvation:

    1. First, you must acknowledge to God that you are a sinner. The Bible teaches that we all were born as sinners with an appetite for sin. Romans 3:23 says, “…for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We sin because we are born with a nature to sin. The Bible also teaches that God is perfect and holy (1 Peter 1:16). And, because God is holy, He cannot accept sin on any terms. Therefore, because we are sinners, we only deserve eternal punishment from a holy God for our sins. God in His holiness is right and just to sentence us to eternal death. That is why the Bible says in Romans 6:23, “the wages of sin is death…” Thus, you first must acknowledge before God that you are a sinner.
    2. Second, you must acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only One who can forgive you of your sins and save you from the eternal punishment. The last part of Romans 6:23 says, “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The good news is that while God is completely holy, He also loves us with an everlasting love. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross in our place. God sentenced you and me to eternal punishment because of our sin, yet God chose to send Jesus Christ to the eternal “death chamber” in our place. Therefore, because Christ died on the cross in our place, we can escape the eternal “death chair” by trusting Him. And, when He rose from the dead (resurrection), it proved that God accepted His sacrifice on our behalf! If you believe Jesus Christ died for you and then rose from the dead, He will save you from the eternal death chamber. Isn’t that wonderful? Thus, what we could not do before a holy God, Christ does on our behalf if we believe in Him (Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21). The Bible says when you believe, He forgives you of all your sins (Ephesians 1:7). Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for you. You do not have to go to the eternal death chair! Therefore, you must acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only One who can forgive you of your sins and save you from eternal punishment.
    3. Last, you must trust Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. The Bible says you can have salvation simply by believing; not by joining a church; not by baptism; nor by being a good person. The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10, “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” The Bible also says in Romans 10:13, “whosoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” Jesus Himself says, the one who believes me has eternal life; “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” (John 5:24). You simply must believe in your heart, that is trust Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
    4. How do I believe? If you are sincerely ready to believe and accept Christ as personal Savior, simply pray the following prayer below.
"Dear God, I acknowledge before You that I am a sinner worthy of eternal death. I now know that Jesus Christ died for my sins, taking my place in the eternal death chamber for me. I now believe Jesus Christ did die for me on that cross, and that by His death, burial and resurrection, I now can receive the forgiveness of my sins and Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins, saving my life, and giving me a new life. In Jesus name, Amen.”
    5. What do I do now? First, we welcome you into the family of God! If you sincerely did steps 1 through 4, you are a Christian! Secondly, you need to join a local Bible believing church so that you can learn about your new life as a Christian. God now wants you to learn what it means to be a Christian so that you can learn more about Christ and His great love for you.
